Topics and strategies discussed: An overview of Greek and Roman Periods, understandable historical outlines, a chronological listing of the major texts and authors showing their interrelations, an explanation of the major social, political and religious ideas of the times which form the backdrop to reading, introductions to the key characters from antiquity, both historical and literary, an analysis of how the classical period contributed to the "fullness of time" into which our Lord was born, hands-on practice reading and discussing selections from the great books.
