Living in a Lofty Tower

Let orthodoxy be the least of your concerns. We understand the need to crown an education with theology, the queen of the sciences, as our educational edifice indeed has a lofty aim—heaven itself. With Kolbe Academy, there's no need to worry about so-called "Catholic" resources of questionable orthodoxy. We use the Faith and Life series by Catholics United for the Faith and Ignatius Press, the New St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism, the Fr. Laux books, and many other excellent and faithfully orthodox religious instruction materials. Kolbe's staff is made up of faithful Catholic, experienced, and dedicated individuals. The staff members all take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium and sign the Profession of Faith in the Holy Roman Catholic Church.

From the St. Joseph Picture Books in kindergarten to the Fr. Laux books in high school, we are committed to providing the finest orthodox materials. Religion is studied every year. High school studies include Fr. Laux's books, Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton, St. Thomas Aquinas, Fr. John Hardon's Catholic Catechism, early Christian writings, The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, St. Augustine's City of God, numerous Church documents, and many others.

Additionally, some subjects must be studied in high school which contain difficult subjects: evolution and reproduction in biology, history and literature that deal with mature subjects, etc. Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, said, "Forewarned, forearmed; to be prepared is half the victory." We couldn't agree more. To be effective disciples of Christ, to live in the world but not be of the world, we must be armed with the power of knowledge. How better to combat the pernicious errors of modernism than to understand their arguments and deconstruct them? Think of it as apologetics that crosses subject boundaries. We always do our best to alert you, as the parent, to these potentially troublesome subjects.
