Third Form Latin

Third Form Latin & Intro to Henle Latin 1

Third Form Latin reviews everything from the first two forms and builds on the knowledge gained from the courses in order to help the students master the complete verb paradigms for all four conjugations in the indicative active and passive.

Course Description

This course is designed to be used by students who have completed the grammar contained in the First and Second Forms. This latin course employs the “grammar-first” approach to language acquisition, and this means that students will need to commit to extensive memorization. However, we will take things slowly so that the Latin grammar becomes embedded in the long-term memory of the student. The grammar stage will typically take three years (First, Second, and Third Forms).

Course Expectations

Students taking this course are expected to complete daily assignments, periodic exams and quizzes.

Assignment due-dates and grades are established by the parent.  Optionally, a student may be enrolled in the Self-Paced Plus© grading assistance program to receive grading assistance from a Kolbe Academy faculty or staff member on designated assignments in the course. In this case, parents will still submit final grades to Kolbe for the course, but may choose to incorporate the graded assignments into the student’s overall grade or use the Kolbe-graded assignments to assist in arriving at the student’s final grade.
