Hurricane Relief Fund

September 13, 2017

Dear Kolbe Families and Friends,

Our hearts and our prayers continue to go out to all the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. This last week has given all of us an amazing opportunity to demonstrate the many virtues we aspire to live in our daily lives. I have spoken with so many families who have extended their gratitude for the charity of our Kolbe Families. We are already in the process of helping several families who have been affected by the hurricanes, and I am sure we will hear from several more in the coming week. If you or anyone you know has been affected, please be sure to reach out and notify us. The Kolbe Academy Family has put together a very sizeable donation pool that is ready to be put to use, but the fund is limited, so please reach out to us soon.

Kolbe Academy is prepared to help any of our families that have been affected by the hurricanes. However, we will first offer assistance to Kolbe Families who are enrolled with us and are in the FEMA-declared disaster areas listed below. Families that meet those criteria will receive priority, however any family affected will receive consideration.

Irma-Related Disaster Areas:

Counties of Broward, Charlotte, Clay, Collier, Duval, Flagler, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Putnam, Sarasota, St. Johns

Harvey-Related Disaster Areas:

Counties of Aransas, Austin, Bastrop, Bee, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Goliad, Gonzales, Hardin, Harris, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Karnes, Kleberg, Lavaca, Lee, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Nueces, Orange, Polk, Refugio, Sabine, San Jacinto, San Patricio, Tyler, Victoria, Walker, Waller, Wharton

If you would like to help those Kolbe families who have been affected by the flooding, we welcome your assistance. We have established a fund to help these Kolbe families replace their books, assist with tuition payments, etc. Be assured that 100% of your donation will be used to help those families. Any funds left over after helping these families will be donated to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Since Kolbe Academy is a 501(c)(3) organization, all of your donations are tax-deductible.

We are continuing the search for used books for these families as well, so if you have books that you would like to donate or sell back to Kolbe, we will use these books to help our parents replace what has been lost. Be sure that you indicate that you would like them to be used towards the Hurricane Relief efforts and send them in to the below listed address. If we cannot use them for one of our families, then the value of the book will be donated to the Kolbe Academy Relief Fund in your name. Please check to make sure that the books are in alignment with the Kolbe Academy Curriculum, as we may not be able to accept them otherwise.

If you are able to help, please click here to be taken to a secure online donation form. In the field titled "How would you like your donation directed?" please select Hurricane Harvey Relief. If you would prefer to donate by check, please mail your check to Kolbe Academy at 1600 F Street, Napa, CA 94559, with "Harvey" on the memo line.

Thank you and God bless you!
