Class of 2022 Senior Spotlight: Katherine Elizabeth Ma

Katherine Elizabeth Ma, daughter of Arnold and Sarah Ma, was born in Xiangtan, China and raised in North Carolina. She is an accomplished cellist and has earned many awards and scholarships throughout her 14 years of playing. She enjoyed her final season with the Youth Orchestras of Charlotte as Principal Cellist, but her greatest honor has come from sharing her gift of music during Mass by accompanying the organ at The Cathedral of St. Patrick and playing with the beautiful voices of St. Ann’s choir. Katherine Elizabeth revels in the competition of sports, most recently in rowing. During high school, Katherine Elizabeth earned membership in Eta Sigma Alpha National Honor Society, worked at Reid’s Fine Foods, volunteered at Wing Haven Gardens and has always loved spending time with family and friends.

Katherine Elizabeth is graduating with Kolbe's magna cum laude diploma from Kolbe Academy and will be attending The Catholic University of America – Busch School of Business in the fall. While at CUA, she will row on Varsity Crew and participate in the Symphony Orchestra. She would like to thank her parents for their enduring love, support, and all of the sacrifices they have made through the years. Katherine Elizabeth is also grateful for the faculty and teachers of Kolbe Academy who have guided her and given her an amazing Catholic education.

Congratulations to the class of 2022! We pray that the Lord may bless and guide them as they embark on new adventures.
