Class of 2023 Senior Spotlight: Ellen Foreman

Ellen Foreman will be attending Cornell University as a Tanner Dean's Scholar and one of twenty-five scholars in the Milstein Program in Technology and Humanity.

As an internationally-recognized pianist, she has won the William Knabe International Piano Competition, performed at Carnegie Hall, and been featured as a musician on National Public Radio's "From the Top" Show #415. Recently, she was selected as the winner of the Texas State International Piano Festival Concerto Competition, and will be performing the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto with an orchestra this summer. In addition, she has participated in the Piano Texas International Academy and Festival and the Puerto Rico International Piano Festival. She is the social media intern for Musicale, Regional Director and Mentor for the Back-to-BACH Project San Antonio Region, Mentor for Virtuosi Music Mentorship, Student President for the Junior Tuesday Musical Club, and a Youth Ambassador & Junior Jurist for the Gurwitz International Piano Competition.

In Kolbe, she has been the Executive Producer of Kolbe TV, Lead Designer of the Newsletter, and Captain of the Spiritual Life Club.

Outside of music, Ellen has received gold medals on the National Latin Exam, was named a 2023 Coca-Cola Scholar Semifinalist and 2023 National Merit Finalist, and received the MENSA Honor Society's Platinum Volunteering Award.
